SECURITY OFFICER – GATE / ROVER

SMI Security Management Innovations is seeking a professional Security Officer to join our team at a residential apartment community in the Miami area.

Position Details:
  • Position: Security Officer – Gate / Rover.
  • Schedule: Monday – Wednesday.
  • Hours: 6:00 PM – 7:00 AM.
  • Pay Rate: $16.00 per hour.
  • Location: Miami, Florida area.
  • Position Type: Residential Security.

Primary Responsibilities:
The selected Security Officer will be responsible for maintaining a professional security presence throughout the property and assisting with the overall safety and security of residents, guests, and the community.
Key responsibilities include:
  • Monitor the property and assigned areas as a gate/rover officer.
  • Maintain a visible and professional security presence.
  • Monitor and report suspicious activity, safety concerns, and unusual incidents.
  • Complete accurate and timely hourly activity reports documenting observations and security-related activities.
  • Conduct routine patrols of designated areas as assigned.
  • Monitor access points and report unauthorized or unusual activity.
  • Respond professionally to resident and guest concerns within the scope of the security officer's responsibilities.
  • Immediately report significant incidents or emergencies to the appropriate supervisor and/or emergency services when necessary.
  • Maintain professional communication with residents, guests, management, and SMI supervisors.
  • Follow all SMI policies, post orders, client requirements, and applicable security procedures.

Candidate Requirements:
  • Valid Florida Class D Security License.
  • Reliable transportation to and from the assigned location.
  • Ability to work the scheduled overnight hours.
  • Professional appearance and strong customer-service skills.
  • Ability to remain alert and attentive throughout the shift.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to accurately complete reports and document incidents.
  • Prior residential, apartment, gatehouse, or rover security experience is preferred.
